Orchid Talks and Seminars

Wenqing is available to give talks to your local orchid societies and has done quite a few zoom presentations from China. She may also be able to visit in person, for example when she travels to the USA or Germany for the spring and autumn orchid shipments, or occasionally on an organized speaker's tour, or when traveling for an international orchid meeting. In the past she has given presentations at the Paph Guild, the Paph Forum, the World Orchid Conference, as well as at numerous orchids societies in Canada, the USA, Australia, Germany and Switzerland. She gives about 10 talks every year, on topics including Cypripediums in China, Orchid cultivation and Propagation, Orchid Tours in China. 

Wenqing is proficient in Chinese, English, Japanese and German. She is a IUCN SSC Orchid Specialist Group Expert and IUCN SSC China Species Specialist group expert. She is also a senior advisor to Huanglong National Park, and is currently the president and chief executive officer of Hengduan Biotechnology. With her late husband, Holger Perner, they established the nursery in 2003, specializing in the propagation of Paphiopedilum and Cypripedium orchids. Hengduan Biotechnology exports their products to Europe, Canada, the USA and Japan and is the only commercial nursery in China that can export CITES appendix 1 Paphiopedilums from China.
